Its really satisfying watching it grow ... My tanks just starting to really settle in after 5 months. I just got my first SPS frags, there in my frag tank until my LED light gets here.

Daniel, do you have pics of your old tank? Or is there a way to access it on here? I'm still fairly new to forums so apologize in advance if there's a DOH answer to this :)

Thanks! You had a ton of coral and it looks like black sand. I love that look...any reason you didn't opt for the black sand again?

Depressing or inspiring? Probably a little bit of both :)

    A few reasons actually:
    1. It's super hard to keep clean
    2. It's rough on sand sifting critters
    3. White sand reflects more light. Since this is going to be SPS dominant, I need all the light I can get
    4. Did I mention it's hard to keep clean. :p

Really it's inspiring. The only reason I lost everything was the fact that I was too lazy to get my ATO done. I know I'm good at this and at the hobby. Now that I have my ATO up and I know I won't have to move my tank because I own my home, I should be good to go. It will be beautiful again someday. Getting rid of these diatomes will be a good start.
