I'm not sure where the it is, but not too long ago I saw a thread about a "wall tank". The guy just built a good stand and framed a little wall around it in the side of his living room. It looked pretty nice from the out side and was lust a plywood wall with a frame (nice frame) on the inside of his little fish room that he made behind it.

This build on the stand is no good. Horizontal 2x4's should rest on top of the vertical 2x4's otherwise the screws or nails will be supporting the majority of the weight. Same thing on the bottom. It's hard to tell from your picture but virtually the entire weight of the tank and stand will rest on the four corners unless you rest the four corners the 2x4 frame like I suggested on the top.

he is right, but I did it the "wrong way" and it's working just fine, even with out much plywood. I defiantly will come back and get some more plywood around it, because as far as I know the ply will hold a lot more load and is better at holding a load than most people think. If I was going to build a stand again I might go with reefsparky's build style (I can't remember what type he said it was). I would ask him where he got his plans.

well thanks for the help but now i am on plan C

my mom will not let me or my dad build a stand and she thinks the wall thing will look "geto" so we went to rcwilliy to look for some stuff and we found a stand and my mom liked it so now we are on to this.

first thing i thought was it will not be strong so there was no one around me my dad and bro stood on it and it was still holding good so we are going back tomorrow to get a price we will also strengthen it.

my 40 gal sump will fit and it is extreamly nice the only thing is there was a $1500 price tag but the guy said he will work on the price.

also to day i went to roseville glass and got my glass cut i watched as she did it and only charged $21.08 otd so i was happy so was dad. i will get pics of me asembling the sump

also today i got a call from TCF that my order is in so i am ready to set up my tank when i get my stand and cut the holes ;D

also what is your recommendation for an ATO system
