that work well for the skimmer and return? you get a good turnover in the DT? im just curious, because i have yet to buy my new return pump yet, and im considering spec'ing it out to provide a solid 900-1000GPH to the DT and then the necessary GPH for a skimmer

The mag12 works great, I could not fully open the return until I finished the fuge and was able to open the drain line into it so the overflow could keep up.
It comes with a foam block to cover the inlet on the pump. Only takes me 45 seconds a week to pull it off and rinse it to keep it clean.

By the way, i'm debating making that 150 into a ciclid tank, let me know if you start lookin at selling a few of the babies... what kind of rock was that in the picture you posted in the other thread?

texas holey rock. purchased from a fish store in wisconsin named 'hoeffers' (sp?). was ~$2/lb. wish i had more of it. for the substrate i have caribsea aragonite cichlid sand the black/white stuff. i cant recall the exact name off the top of my head. im using a fluval 305 canister filter. my local tap water is perfect for them they love it. i have the easiest maintenance ever on my cichlid tank. suck some water out and put some new tap in (use one of those gravel siphon tools that hookup to the sink i have in my 8x6 room that the cichlid tank and inwall reef tank filter into). add in some kent cichlid trace and some aquarium salt and im golden. params are always solid and i feed once a day.

i dont know how to ship live-stock... if you were to tell me how you're welcome to my cichlid livestock. the tanks over populated at this point.

one question, why did you make the sump compartment larger than the refugium section?

I didn't, you cant see it in the picture but they are both the same size. I thought about going even bigger for the fuge side but I also wanted enough room in the sump area to do maint and handle unforseen overflow from the tank via any poweroutage and siphon break failures.
