I plan on running UV's and try to keep any copper (if needed)in the QT's only. We will see as we go--also looking into some of the fish pharmaceuticals products.

I plan on having 2-3'X3'x3' vats

Sounds like you had quite an awesome place - definitely the kind of place I would have gone to....frequently

 

Looks good IMO. Are you going to have some type of office? Seems to me you will need some small area to be able to work on bookkeeping, records etc without being bothered. I used to work for a man that had a floor safe installed also. We kept it covered so no one was the wiser it was there. just a thought.

We may regret not getting a bigger place----we will see.

I don't anticipate a whole lot of bookkeeping time. We purchased a nice POS system and its integrated with the bookkeeping software. Our accountant will have all the itemized category's in the system. All the employees also check in at the POS. I plan on receiving goods,selling goods and accounting to be input one time and its done.
In theory I should be able to see the bottom line, Inventory,Employee hours, Balance statement, Bills due....Ect with the click of a button.

 

Yay internet! Better than smelly old binders and notebooks

One thing our LFS did was that it cured live rock in the back, and when the rock was cured enough (where it was actually live, no die off) they moved it into the display tanks. So customers could look in the display tanks for rock they want. Another LFS cures rock in the back, but then has a big ply tank at floor level for people to select rock pieces from. Just some rock ideas.

And please please please keep the copper out of the display tanks! That's a disaster waiting to happen.

I plan on putting cured L/R in the bottom tanks on some of the displays
They will also be marked for price.

The POS system-- Cash drawer, Scanner, CC card reader, printer-fax- scanner--still waiting on the touch screen display and the Dell tower

 

Just for clarification....

POS means Point Of Sale system. It's software that records inventory decreases with each sale and keeps track of inventory levels and the like.

 

Yes POS= Point of Sale

I guess POS can also be something duragotory...... LOL
