The water itself is a buffer to the fish. It's fine.

Haha believe me, there are still plenty of fish in the sea. All you have to do is go SCUBA diving in the ocean once, and you'll understand why chromis and damsels are the cheapest fish on the market. They're EVERYWHERE...

And what inwall said. The fish may look like they're getting manhandled, but they aren't really. Remember, those are the fish that are healthy and have been in the distributer for a few days. Also, as inwall said, the water acts as a buffer, helping prevent injury. Imagine a bunch of people flopping around and wrestling on a gymnastics foam pad (you know, the big thick foam rubber ones). They may look like they're taking a beating, but they're not. It's far more comfortable than it looks.

Unfortunately I have only had the pleasure of diving in fresh water, oh and free diving for abs off cali. So I have never seen a tropical setting. Its on my list to do. :)

Oh wow you definitely need to do. I've never been diving in a freshwater environment, though. I've been fishing, boating, snorkeling, and swimming. But never diving. I plan on fixing this in the next year :)
