amazing setup.. I like that you have a quarantine section.. many lfs skip this step.. I have a total off the wall question, but do you know about how much your electricity and water bill will be running the store. If you dont want it public, PM me..

I used to work in an Ice plant as a summer job and asked the boss his water bill to be $7,000 plus in the warmer months and $5000 in the cooler ones.. Its just something that has always intrigued me..

I am not sure but we are planning on a lot of LED lighting...The water bill is paid by the owner of the building. I am sure that will change;D. Maybe he will not notice:eek: LOL

I have no problem telling you how much it cost ...time will tell

nice, you're going to have to love that one metered system. LEDs are going to help you immensely.

I dont have to pay for water in my apartment, and I just love that fact..

LOL....In the winter, our heater never turned on. All of the lighting, and pumps, and chillers that weren't vented to the outside heated the whole store. In the summer, our electric bills were very high because the store required two air conditioners instead of just one. I was able to improve on this by switching MH's to T-5's or LED's. I knocked the lighting down by half on all of the fish only tanks. During the summer months, electricity averaged $2500/mo. When we took over the space next door and knocked out the wall, we jumped from 2000 sq feet to 3500 which gave us a 3rd air conditioner. In spite of that, the bills didn't really go up.

There were many INEXPENSIVE things we could have done to reduce our energy costs like HRV's for the winter, venting fans on rheostats in the summer. However, my partners weren't exactly as forward-thinking as I was.

You'll get a kick out of this.....during the winter in our QT warehouse, we had indoor rain. It didn't matter, we had concrete floors and corrugated steel ceilings that was about 50 feet off the ground. I'm not a meteorologist so I can't actually explain it, however, water evaporated, rose to the ceiling came in contact with cold air conducted through the roof and turned into rain.

LOL...the first time I saw it, it wasn't cool. I ran around like a chicken with it's head cut off trying to find the leak in the sumps and plumbing. I did this for about an hour before I realized that not only the floor was soaking wet, the tops of tanks, plumbing, shelves, etc. were also wet. I was looking down when I should have been looking up. ;D
