My Own Fish Store Build!

Wow what an awesome opening day. We made the mistake of putting the "Now Open" banner up at 10:30. We were then going to do the champagne celebration. Well the first customer walked in right away. It was nonstop until about 3:30. Then about 15 minutes and it started again. We didn't get to have our little celebration until 8:00pm. Colodan had to miss it since he had a hot date and left before then.
Our first sale was ridiculous. First we charged to much and had to refund some back to their credit card. Then we placed another customers starfish in the bag with the first customers order. The customers were all cool about it.
After that all got resolved things went real smooth. We had steady sales all day long. We received a bunch of positive comments about the atmosphere of the store. hopefully tomorrow goes as well as today did.

LOL. Even though PR had a full POS system, Steve and Ryan used the suppliers part numbers in it. In other words, the scanner didn't work because the part numbers were one digit off from the UPC codes. They never even did a test run to make sure things were working. EVERY item that was sold had to be looked up while the customer waited. All things considered, I think you are ahead of us.

what an amazing day you must have had! I am sure that excitement and maybe even a few nerves added to the confusion - but totally understandable confusion If everything had run perfectly - I would have wondered what went wrong! lol....

How awesome that people showed right up when the sign went up - heck if i lived in that area I would have been staking your store out super early yesterday to be the first one inside.

Word is now out and will spread about what a cool place you have created!

Sooo happy for you.... finally after all that work.... and it sounds like you had a successful opening. I owned a retail store before and the scanner/barcode thang is a nightmare... so I can certainly sympathize. Just take a bit of time but once it is all set up you will have all your inventory and accounting on your pos system.
