The Internet is a huge part of this industry, so be sure to get a website up in advance along with a page on every social network you can find. Also be sure to get involved in and get the word out on any local clubs you can find. We all love what's new, so you will generate traffic simply from people wanting to check out the new shop. Be sure to capitalize on this right away. Interactions within the first few months of business may set the tone for a longer period. Good luck!

Good luck! Are you going to do any kind of mail order? You're a bit outside my range... What are you going to call the place?

Mike: Thanks for the words of wisdom&encouragement. I am working on all that. probably in the next couple of weeks here once the infrastructure is mostly done ill get on the web design and graphics. yall seem to be doing very well down there at elite reef...any more words of advice?BTW, if youd be willing to share a couple sources PM me. thanks

Elwolfe: Mail order and internet sales to come in the future. I am really trying/striving to please the local reefers and get a good quality customer base here in the shop. really make an impact on the other low quality LFS.

RCmch20: by bike you do mean motorcycle right?? im an avid cyclist and thought "damn, thats quite the ride!!!" lol

I absolutely disagree the internet is a huge part of the industry. I just have to look at how many of my customers only have a fax machine to tell you that is not true :D I think this is a case of the bug in the rug and only seeing the thread, not the rug.

I could care less about ordering fish over the net would much rather have a good LFS for my stuff.

however there are alot of people who are slowly phasing out the need for human interaction so it is definatly part of the bigger picture
