My peppermint shrimp will not leave my coral alone!!!!

I just put a new coral in my tank a couple of hours ago. Im not sure what its called but it looks like grass. My peppermint shrimp has been on it ever since I put it in. Will it hurt it?

 

He is probably just cleaning off all the goodies, like algae. My hermits and peppermints usually do the same thing when I add something new to the tank.

 

Is the coral Green Star Polyps

the shrimp is probably just picking any bits of food it can find on it
although peppermint shrimp do eat Aiptasia and as such some people had had issues with them eating other polps - Zoanthids being eaten is one account IIRC

Whats IIRC and yes I think they are Green Star Polyps Thank you. So it is helping the coral if anything?

 

If it's a peppermint, agree, probably just picking at detritus. Usually they are pretty good. Just make sure it's not a camel shrimp. They are similar and sometimes sold as peppermints, but are not really reef safe.

 

I had a peppermint that took a liking to LPS.... almost killed my frogspawn. Watch it carefully.
