Yes, because there was nothing to introduce.... this time. But that's a gamble. Maybe things are different in Denmark, but that's not something you should do here. It's not a safer method in these parts.

Agreed. Even Live Aquaria / Diver's Den specifically tell you not to add their water to your tank.

I've never been a fan of copper-based medications and would NEVER get LFS water from a store that uses lots of medication. If they do medication, they should get some reef-safe stuff, that wont hurt any invertebrates, corals or fish. Cause copper, man that is poisonous to everything, even the fish. I think that you definitely can find some stores, that wont use alot of medication in their water. Or atleast, they will make a quarantine where they wont sell the fish, and maybe even put the fish in a special tank, that has its own filtration. I remember back in the days where it was legal to use medication, and my fish store would quarantine sick saltwater fish in a tank with its own filtration, so nothing would ever touch the other tanks. I think they know how to run their business too, one of them has ran fish stores for 20 years :O. But yes, if you have ever witnessed any medication going on in the tanks with the same filtration as all other tanks, DONT USE THIS METHOD. But if the water is perfect, and there is no spots of medication or high nitrates and phosphates, this method works very well. But also, do notice this is not just an acclimation for new fish, but can be used for old fish getting moved from one of your tank to another. This method is the best, if the water in the bag is fine. I can assure you that ;)

Yes, they do. I actually dont really know how much American fish stores use medication in their tanks, but it wouldnt surprise me if someone would make special systems for medication instead of just putting it in the main tanks with shared filtration. Thats just stupid i think :D I understand they dont want to lose money by losing fish etc. But they dont seem to have problems with it over here. And there are not alot of saltwater aquarium keepers over here at the moment, so i dont think that they specifically would make more money than Liveaquaria or Divers Den or ANY other stores over in the US. I actually think they would make over twice as much money. However, i've also heard alot of people complaining about ordering some sensitive tangs from there and then they've had a disaster parasite outbreak in their tank. I dont know, i just personally dont like buying fish online, since you dont know anything about the water, or how the fish you get looks like. It kinda freaks me out. I would of course buy invertebrates from there, but not fish or corals. Just my opinion :)

Dood, I am treating our fish for worms and flukes and they will look fantastic, better than fantastic, but I'm still not going to say "My fish and tanks are perfect, please feel safe to pour the water in your tank", because I don't have ESP. I could have a full outbreak of something today, but oops, you bought the fish yesterday when I didn't know. That's beyond ANY the store's future reading abilities. Even if they remove fish from their system as soon as they get sick.... just like a cold is contagious way before the symptoms present themselves. Diseases are generally present before they show symptoms.

Agreed. Its very hard to keep diseases and parasites out of the stores tanks once they are there. Thats why i always reserve fish, to make sure that they have been there for some time, and that they're healthy and can survive the transport home to me (30 min drive -.-). Yes, the fish might even be sentenced to death before showing any symptoms, where its simply just to late to cure. I know that because i suffered for a little over 2 months with Brooklynella, and i got medication (From germany, muhahahaha) and used it (Reef-safe medication aswell). But when the symptoms showed, it was simply just to late :( Parasites and diseases suck! :D

I like your disclaimer you added. It sounds like things ARE different over there. I wouldn't even use the RO/DI or pre-made saltwater from many around here!!

??? See here, step 10: Remove the filled shipping bag from the aquarium and discard the water. Never release shipping water directly into the aquarium.

Given the above, then why are you even commenting on how American systems can or should run? Things are clearly different between Denmark and the US, for good or bad. Renee and I are just trying to make the point that your method should never be used by anyone in America. Period, whether you trust the LFS or not.

I am still very new to this hobby, but have made several online purchases. This is one of the only way to get the more rare fish available in this hobby. So far so good with me. In fact, I have had better success getting healthy fish through online purchases than I have at LFS.

I dont want to sound wrong here guys. I'm not trying to say how stores should run, thats not my intention.. Really... Anyway, i'm just sharing my succesful experiences with this hobby to others. Where did you buy the online fish from? Liveaquaria?
