I have bought from Diver's Den (Live Aquaria), Blue Zoo Aquatics, and That Pet Place.

Hahaha :) Yes things are really different around the world with the aquarium hobby. I'm surprised by how things work here in Europe, compared to Asia and the US. So watch out with this method Americans, it can be dangerous! VERY DANGEROUS. Caution!

Okay :) I've heard about a guy from youtube, who ordered a fish from liveaquaria (I think it was a purple tang) and he lost everything. All of his fish got parasites and died before him being able to cure it. Might be bad luck with the shipping? :(

Also, sometimes i would wish we had more stores for invertebrates over here. Its illegal to ship live animals here in Denmark aswell (Yup, we have some pretty strict rules over here), but invertebrates can be shipped. I have to order Berghia Nudibranchs from Southern Germany, and the shipment cost close to 100$!

Improper acclimation perhaps. I wouldn't use one example of someone buying a fish known as an "Ich magnet" as the rule. However I still QT my purchases whether online or from a LFS. Your example is the risk you run by not using a QT for ALL new fish.

Yup QT is very useful. He drip acclimated him aswell. But he didnt QT him. I think many people forget that with such fish. Sensitive fish should be QT'ed for sure! :)

Just for your guys info, i have added the "Caution" icon to this thread now, and added the dislaimer to make sure that people only use this method if they're 100% sure that their store doesnt run medication. But if theres no medication in water etc, this is the best way to acclimate your fish. Luckily, we dont have medication over here in Denmark, which prevents me from doing this acclimation. It has worked great, and i've used for 4 fish (All of my fish basically) and 0 losses! Again, thanks for reading i'm glad to share my experiences with others, and i just want to help.

Yup, that is the complete safe way, that is for sure! I've just never had room for a quarantine tank, since i got lots of freshwater tanks still, but might set a QT up in one of my older tanks that i'll be shutting down in the near future :)

It is a dry heat, yeah right !

You need to be careful when you make blanket statements off something you could have possibly seen on youtube.

Your enthusiasm for the hobby is amazing. :)

If this method of acclimation works for you wonderful. A desire to share success in this hobby needs to be balanced with duration of time in the hobby when claiming one method better than another.

Definitely communicate your experiences with regard to husbandry, but I would stay away from making conclusive black and white proclamations.

What I am saying is spend more time in the hobby before you make up your mind about any aspect of the hobby.
