Basement sump rooms are awesome. Love following these types of builds. Look forward to watching!

The only thing I can say is plan, plan, plan. The more detailed the better.

For my first attempt I made some sketches, thought through things in my head and thought I had a solid plan. The build did not go smooth and the day to day operation was less than ideal. I had enough and decided to gut the thing and restart, but this time I built an exact scale version of my fish room in Google sketch up. It was time consuming for sure, but I can't tell you how much it saved me in the long run. I made so many adjustments to the heights and dimensions of my tank stands, placement of reactors, how the pipes would run etc. In the end, I had a very efficient use of space and design that makes my day to day life as easy as can be. The build went flawless and I had an exact parts list. There was not 50 trips to the hardware store. I completed the build 9 months ago and I have still yet to say, man I wish I did this or that.

So the 75 is in. It took a little different spin as those of you who follow my other thread saw I helped break down a friends tank who passed of cancer. Here are a few shots of the sump room now.

When you are ready to frag those rastas, let me know!
Having my sump in the basement is the best decision I have made on my build thus far.

Busy day today!!! Made a few updates to the system. Hooked the Tunze wavemakers up to the VDM as well as the AI, and got them all programmed to the apex for the 75, and picked up a WXM for my vortechs on the display tank, it took me a while to get the programming, but WOW what a difference. I am pretty happy with the results.

Also for my tanks anniversary picked up 3 mini colonies! Now where was that post of how much do we spend on our tanks???
