In fusion you will have a lot of options. On my DT I control my acans with it and on the 75 grow out I control a pair of AI Sol Blues - Gives a lot more natural sunrise and sunset IMO>

So this week the focus has been on a new canopy for the DT, I have to say I like my DSA tank, I think the quality is really nice, BUT the canopy... not so much. The underside was not treated, I did not know enough to seal it when it was new, and it is also very low profile so from day one had issues with my lights. So I built a new canopy, I used 3/4 Oak, 1 x 12"s for the sides and front, I made the top hinged, made the center open so I can easily hang my lights, which I will do while it is off the tank - It will however take 2 people to put it on now but not like I will need to keep taking it off. I hope.

As far as finishing it - I used Kilz primer on the interior, and then 3 coats of Appliance paint - this gives an almost glass like finish. A light sanding in between coats (note to self - not a good idea to use this in the house in winter time, did not go over well with the wife)

The exterior I am using a stain. Been trying to find a exact match to the stand, but may have to settle for a "close" match to the stand.

I will get some pictures up of it.

So you refurbished the old canopy? What is the brand of the lighting fixture and how old is it?

Excellent job on the canopy. You have inspired me to finally build my own for my system.

No I am scrapping the old canopy. I built the new one using oak. It is solid! My New light is an Acan 48" 800 series. My old lights are a pair of Acan 600 Prisms. I bought them new not even a year ago. I LOVE the lights. Just happen to get a good deal on the upgrade. I think I am only going to sell one and upgrade the light on the frag tank with the other one. I happen to have a pair of AI sol blues for sale as well, I had bought them for my 75 upgrade but then I was given Cody's set up so I am keeping his lights.

Thank you! I think it came out great - I will post up some pics once it is on the tank. It will stand a little taller than the stock one - but I like that I will get a better spread with the lights.
