My piece of the Reef - the new build continues!

Thank you, I really want a piece of furniture, not just a wood box. I will be building it at a friends shop with him, he is a good carpenter and has the right tools for the finishing. I am pretty handy myself but dont have the planners and stuff. We will be getting "better" wood from his sources than what you can get at some of the big box shops.

 

Just make sure it will fit through your door when done!

So this weekend I will be taking the acan lighting down. I will be putting in the two kessils and 2 t5 retro fit bulbs in the interim of the change. I have my light sold so it will help fund the stand build. I am looking forward to running some t5's to see if I get some different color variations. I have seen a few hybrid tanks recently running a combo of t5's and leds. So now the grow out tank will have (2) AI so blues and (2) 48" T5's and the DT will have (2) kessils and (2) 36" T5's

Frag tank has just the kessil.

As a tangent, although I am a Southerner, and a Texan,
I was born in Garden City, we lived in Levit Town. Moved south when I was about 1 y/o though.
I only mention this b/c of your location is Long Is., which as I'm sure you know is where those cities I mentioned are- at least that's what I'm told

 

Yes I'm not far from either. I'm in Huntington on the north Shore not far from long island sound. Probably 30 min or so from both

Instead of working on the tank I'm out buying frags. Just went in tank I am sure they will color up more. Came from a very established beautiful tank.
