Okay so overall today I made some pretty good progress. I never used a pocket jig before and I can't believe I never had one. Such a better finished product in the long run. I got the bottom in, I got the sides on, I got the front panel put together and I got two sides all cut for the trim. uploadfromtaptalk1445797887019.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1445797928604.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1445797962757.jpg

I am going to replace the top panel of the front with a 1 x 6 instead of the 1 x 4.

Also if you see the inside bottom there is a little space. I didn't want to buy another sheet of plywood so I will just rip a 1 x 4 down to fill the gap. Once it's in I am going to chalk and seal the inside and then prime and paint it with an oil based semi or gloss paint. Even though the sump is in the basement going all the way. Also putting a light in the stand also.

Nice work. I've built stands and the one under my 180. Looks like you used the generally accepted design that puts all the weight on the wood and none on the fasteners.
    Keep up the nice work

Yes really comes down to the 4 legs and they are equivalent to 3 - 2x4s on each corner plus 3x4" plywood on each side. Very strong. I have a main beam in the house that runs directly under the tank with a steal support beam directly under the tank to the concrete in the basement. Could not have planned it better.

I have built stands before but never of this magnitude or quality. It's gonna all be in the finish work but I wanted furniture not just a wood stand.

Got a lot done today! Got some of the canopy done. Frame for the back of it and the front facia. Gonna have it so the front lifts up and a door on each side for easy feeding and venting in warm months. Also going to have some vents on top of the canopy.

Got the first layer of the trim done. Now need to finish bumping out the columns then trim work.

Gonna be saying before you know it!
