I realized that I havent posted any updates in a long time for this tank.

And I picked up this cool plant to keep the jungle theme going around the tank. Haha. I recently picked up a few new fish. I have more neons tetras, probably around 14 or so. The same amount of black neons. A few feeder guppies because they were cheap and I felt bad that they were about to be fed to an oscar. A flounder, he is a really cool little guy. I had to get rid of my black angel fish. He caused alot of fights with my female angel. I love her too much to keep him around. Tell me what you guys think!

Yup. My bad. New light as well. It is a four bulb t5 system. It is supposed to be for plant grow out, but it is serving its aquarium purposes quiet well. I only run two bulbs at a time though.

Looks good. I am going to get a 4 bulb T5 for my 75 planted. I will run all for bulbs though. I am running 260W PC right now.

I am very happy with this light. I picked it up for about $110 if I remember correctly. Look into plant grow out fixtures. The bulbs may not be the best quality, but my fixture came with 8 of them. I just browsed Ebay for a while and found the fixture I have now. Overall a very good deal.

Sounds like a great plan, I will check into it when I make the change.

I agree. I love saltwater, but due to the fact that I am leaving for college soon this will be more managable than a full blown reef. I have three other freshwater planted tanks. Ill post pictures of them soon as well.

Here's my 29 thats been going for a few years with just a bunch of mixed tropicals,i tried the planted thing with a coral light(10,000k light)but the only thing that grew was beard algea,so for now i'm back to artificial plants(hate em)and reg flouresent bulb, but the ease of care, well,it pretty much maintains itself.

I have two 18watt pc bulbs over my 5.5 gallon. There is hardly any algae at all in it. In my opinion it is my best looking tank. I dose excel and use DIY co2 though. That has always helped the algae cause. Algae will only grow if there is imbalance in your tank. It takes some maintainance but it is much easier than reefing in my opinion. Much cheaper too. Haha.
