Seachem excel kills the beard algae, they just can't advertise it. Siamese algae eaters will consume it also.

I have a really small siamese algae eater in my japanese style 5.5. I love that little guy. He keeps the tank really clean too. I still need to post pictures of that tank. I think its my favorite of the 4 planted tanks I have.

That's great, but it will outgrow that tank real soon unfortunately.

Yeah, very true. I have the 55 for him to go into though. Good thing I have enough space. He is too cool to get rid of.

Hey guys. Havent been able to post much due to college life, but Im back home for the weekend so I figured I would snap a few pictures of the tanks. The tank has become overrun with validia, incredibly annoying... I just tore the left side apart and am now thinking of what to replant it with... But anyway, here are a few pictures from earlier today. Ill post more when I am back next.

This tank has been fairly neglected by me recently, but the fish are happy and healthy. Thats all that matters. Over thanksgiving and christmas I will probably be doing some replanting and rearranging. Any comments and opinions are welcome as always. :)

Looks good, planted tanks allow a lot of leeway on maintenance.

Well I stumbled back on this thread a while ago and almost forgot that I made a thread for this tank 3 years ago. This tank has been up for around 4-5 years now and throughout its life it has seen some major changes. I started out as a chichlid tank then house 2 small oscars, from there became a piranha tank which was a terrible idea. Since then it has been an amazon themed planted tank with the focus being angelfish. I have contemplated discus for this tank but havent decided on that just yet. I always wanted to start injecting co2 into this tank and finally got around to doing so, hence the "rebuilding" of this tank. The pictures below show it a few days after most of the plants being torn out to make room for new additions and space for growth.

This would have to be my favorite fish. She is very very intelligent and will eat out of my hand.

Besides the angelfish there are an assortment of tetras. Neon, black neon and mountain minnows.

This is the current obligatory FTS. The tank will really take off with growth now that the co2 injection is in place. I cant wait to add some more plants and watch the empty space fill in. Hopefully it will be up to par with John's (2in10) planted tank. Which is a good part of my inspiration to revamp this tank.

Just a bit more plant life in my room. This is a phalaenopsis orchid. I plan an collecting a few more to put on display close to the tank.

Thanks for looking guys! Any input is appreciated as always.
