My Ponape pictured is slightly bigger than a hard ball baseball.

I have fragged about 10-15ish% of this coral the last few months.

I was looking up lighting requirements for my Ponape BN, as I had thought by my Trials, that lower lighting was actulaly improving it. I recently moved it back and down very slightly.
I'm currently trying to find a place in my DT to move it down a bit more.

I quickly found this thread on Google which kinda of confirms that:
    Ponape birdsnest
And according to this article, it's only been available since 2003?
and an informative history of the coral, or so it seems here:
    Limited Editions Ponape Seriatopora

I now realize I have a very large piece of a relatively exspensive coral!
I do know that when I got it, it was a very small frag.
Mine seems to grow pretty fast- looking at my past vids of my DT.
I can remember just about where/who all my coral came from.
Funny thing is, I actually don't remember who or where I got this one!

I did see it on ebay, for $35 dollars, and $35 overnight shipping, for a very small frag.

Well, ebay pricing is ebay pricing. Sometimes you find some awesome deals, other times the prices can be sky high. Its a very cool birdsnest though. One of the more sought after ones. Ill have to get a tiny frag from you in the near future. :)

lower lighting will bring out the best coloration. But, they do tolerate higher light levels and grow much faster. They just lose some of the coloration(not so green/bright)

    Fsu,

While mine is growing well, I think when i had it lower in the past, it did have more colors.

Looking at my DT now, I think I may have found a spot that it go, and it would be about 3-4 inches lower and try that for a few weeks and see how it likes it.

As of now, it most shallow of my BN's.
Is a Birds of Paradise also a BN?, then it's even with that one, which has great PE where it is.
