finally after a year my car should be goinig to the body shop to get the body kit on.the car is an 06 mitsubishi lancer evolution 9 mr.i made a post a long time ago about what color to paint it and at that point i settled on night hawk black for acura.well now im only 20% sold on night hawk black and 80% sold on mid night purple from a nissan r34 skyline ( Yahoo! Image Search Results for midnight purple skyline r34 ). and 10% not sure lol.... i was changingg the timing belt and some other tid bits while waiting for the body parts. the parts are mostly made from small company in japan so they take upto 6 months to get made and deliver. the parts came along time ago well everything except the trunk and wing. if you want a great buisness to buy from pm me. if your looking for parts and want to know where not to buy from pm me, my tunk and wing have not come for over a year and ive been fighting for a refund.any way. my engine is way behind bc of some part issues but its 99% back together and i hope to start it up tmo.

the car is going to be a wide body so i can fit some ubber wide tires with a crazy offset.dont want to give the parts list away just yet seeing as the kit will be a 1 of a kind kit ;) but the brands are varis do-luck and jun.as for stats on the car for the motor heads i have 2 engines/turbos for the car.my drag engine is a 2.6 42r and puts out around 1200awhp.and i have my regular engine puts down about 400awhp.i drive this car on nice days and ive only clocked in alittlee over 11k miles on it.i drive with the race moter/turbo to and from sevral trackss and man is that fun ;). altough hills are not so fun... really low end torque is not so good on a 2.6 42r awd. but when its turrnin 12000rpm its really fun :). well ill update this thread soon

what do you guys think about the color? i think its cool but the purple part of it makes me sound like im driving a girls car haha.

Although I love the skyline... that color never did anything for me. I love a widebody in black on black though.

It would have been better without all the emissions crap.

I like the purple. Nice car you chose. Who cares what others think about the color, if you like it, that's all that matters. That will be badass when it's finished, as long as the wide tires fit underneath the car and don't stick way out and look dumb.

Your project car is a lot nicer than mine... a 93 Camaro z28. I (and its previous owners) have only clocked 184K miles on it though.

Is the engine easy to swap? It must be a pain to switch engines every time you want to take it to the track. What is your best time? Have you ever run it at the track with your DD motor? If so, what was the time with that?

camaros make for good 1/4 mile cars :) ... i did run the race motor at e town but i still only had the stock clutch i only posted a lousy 10 sumthin but i was burnin the clutch/tires the entire 1/4. and the dd times are in the same ball park. thhe engines are not to easy to swap only did it twice so far. im gonna be running a tripple disk this time around should have wayy better times this time around ;) im hoping to put the car into the 1400awhp this year and get in the high 7s.gotta sit down and crunch some numbers to figure out good tire size to run. wider= heavier but more traction. so i gotta figure that out

as for an update car started up like a champ and is running great .
