it does indeed, however LTA's tend to be like this. they can often look like condy's. the fact your clown went to it so quickly makes me think that it is indeed an LTA.

Wow, the clown is like his best friend... Not sure what to think now. hmmm

Reading the liveaquaria website, it would make more sense that it's a condy.

Yeah, I don't think a day went past and the clown was like a college kid at his first party ;D He was up in there wriggling around and at times, just laying in there.

The tomini tang also has been around him with no "attack" but who knows.

I do feed the anem a silverside or two twice a week. I think I'm keeping him well fed.

in rare circumstances, a condy will host a clown. I had one many years ago and it hosted a clarkii clown. I never had any issues with it being aggressive or eating any fish.

i too have had a clarkii host a condy, it is quite unusual but also quite bad for the clown long term. as condy anemones are an atlantic species. clowns are in the pacific and therefore all clown hosting anemones are in the pacific. the differences between atlantic and pacific anemones can be great. clowns are not always entirely immune to the sting of atlantic anemones. so long term this could cause great damage or possibly even death to the clown.

wouldn't the clown show some signs if it was being stung regularly though?

its only very long term, it tends to take a toll after several months. my clarkii hosting the condy started getting very lethargic around the 4-5 month mark. i eventually just had to remove him from the tank because he didnt know the anemone was what was killing him ultimately.

clownfish also do this often times when they host an LPS, such as a hammer coral or frogspawn. as the corals sweeper tentacles have quite a potent sting that the clown is just not used to. it often will show on the clown making it seem like he has large scratches on his sides.

    Agreed.

I once had a condy that hosted a domino damsel. I've also seen several cinnamon clowns in them, as well. By the same token, I had a percula clown that got stung by a BTA; She spent several minutes frantically darting around the tank and rubbing her side on the rocks and sand. She never went near another anemone.

I believe your fish will be just fine.
