As the title states above I am hoping to make my tank be able to sustain a Dragonet. I have a 34 gallon reef with many corals and inverts + 2 clowns and a Royal Gramma. This is my plan:

1st: Add bag of rubble rock w/ mesh around it for 2 weeks
2nd: Take out mesh bag and leave the rubble rock in
3rd Add chaeto every week for 1 month
4th: Get mandarin dragonet and continue to add chaeto every month/Every other week add pods from LFS
Any suggestions are welcome. I will post my progress on this thread
    Thanks

seems like a lot of work to keep a dragonet...

Maybe try researching dosing silicates. They are an essential part of many small organisms and are thought to be limited in our tanks, thus not allowing pods to grow quickly

It is worth the work ;)
Reef tanks in general are a lot of work and I do not plan to draw the line at a Dragonet LOL
    Thanks for the info

I do not think that would work for me because I do not have an extra tank, but I will talk to my LFS about maybe getting some pods so I could physically add them. Thanks for the help!

Yup they sure do eat a lot of pods ;)
I am happy there is somebody with a nano tank that is successful in keeping a Dragonet ;)

You can also grow your own Brine Shrimp. Freshly hatched brine shrimp are perfect because of their small size, and you could keep it in a 2 liter bottle hatchery for a few days and just do random feedings in the day. You would have to feed the fish same time as well.

I just dumped it right into the tank, I had a small 10G sump with small fuge with chaeto....even a hang on back filter modded to hold some sand, and chaeto would give them a place to multiply without being eaten. Gotta have a safe haven for the boom boom. ;p

You can even get 1 1/2" PVC and drill some holes in it. Place into your tank, burying it into the rockwork. Fill the PVC with rock rubble, and then pour the pods down the pipe. That column would be the pod's breeding grounds, where they are safe from predators. Make sure the pvc is long enough to stick out of the water. You can probably remove it after several months, once the pods take a hold of the tank, population wise.
