My RBTA and Clowns Have Bonded

I've had my clowns for about 6 months. The RBTA was added a few weeks ago in the hopes the clowns would bond with it. Last night before lights out, I noticed my clowns playing in the Nem and thought I would post a pic. How cool is that?

I'm not sure if he is a true or a false Perc. I bought a pair that were $10 each and they are in the main tank. The other pair (the ones bonding with the Nem) were more expensive at $20 apeice. I always get the True and False confused and the male is mis-bared. They were both tormenting the Nem but the female was being stubborn when I got out the camera.

 

I bought the Nem from an individual in town that had his split into three pieces. The mouth was starting to heal when I brought her home and she decided she was a cave bat and attached upside down to the underside of my rock.

When she is swelled she looks bleached but when she is small she is a bright neon pink. Not sure what that is all about but she seems to be doing well, is eating, and has gotten big since I brought her home.

I'm sure the clowns have probably stressed her a little. Last night she was huge and after 10 minutes of the clowns messing with her and sucking her tentacles, she shriveled down to the size of a half dollar. Not sure if them sucking on her is a good sign or not.........I've never had clowns that have bonded with a Nem before.

 

Saturday night, still in awe that my clowns have bonded with the RBTA, I looked at the tank and was horrified. My beautiful female clown was laying in the Nem, upside down, with the Nems tentacles around her, and wasn't moving at all. I have always heard that the Nem could sting a fish and kill it but was so disappointed to loose her.
I reached into the tank and grabbed her with my hand. I literally jumped out of my skin when my little female took off.

She was playing Possuum.

 

Congrats on the bonding, the possum move is funny and scary at the same time. Glad she is OK.

 

I wasn't sure if it was normal or not. I'm always watching one of my tanks and observed her do it numberous times after that and she was laying in the same position inside the Nem when I went to bed but I woke up and she was fine.
Yesterday she spent a good part of her day tormenting the nem and playing possum. Too funny. I charged my camera battery and am going to try and get a picture tonight after work if she is still doing it.
