My recent projects!

Ok guys, I am actually sharing 3 projects in one here! This first post will talk about my RO/DI built. More specifically, my RO/DI stand, Storage tank and run offs including the salt water holding area.

The first picture you will see below Is the stand I built. Nothing fancy, just a bunch of 2x4's with plenty of support for a 40 gallon container to sit on.

I then drilled two holes and added bulkheads with faucets attached to each. I positioned one so I could fill a jug and the other over a 2o gallon container I am using for salt water.

Nothing much else to say except the build sees to work

 

Next I made another (slightly larger) stand and placed my fish tank on it. The main reason for this build was more space, but specifically more height so I can run my skimmer again on my 55 gallon.

Those of you who may have seen my 55 before know my wife will "decorate" this soon with curtain etc.

 

finally, my LED upgrade. I used 10 cool white, 10 royal blue, 6 blue, 4 uv, 4 neutral white and 2 green on dimmable drivers. The last picture shown hanging over my tank is dimmed to 25 percent..... ya, those suckers are powerful. I did not currently use the optics but am considering it. special thanks to exactly for giving me many MANY quick hints!

 

Corals seem to love the new lights. So far I am just leaving them on for 1-3 hours a day and using the old lights. Coralline is still going as well

Building things yourself is half the fun of this hobby. I buily my 100G stand and canopy, a matching stand next to the tank which at one time before LED held my 1/4HP chiller, my 30G sump and a similar RO/DI storage/ATO stand in my garage.
