    I can't tell for sure, but it looks like a Nassarius snail. Did you feed the tank shortly before he came out?

    Not fed my tank yet. I've seen about 20 of them

    Do they have "snouts"? Here is what one looks like close up:

    Look up "Stomatella Snail" and see if that's your snail.

    It looks like a Nassarius to me...

    I believe its stomatella. Especially if there's 20 of them. They eat the algae on the glass but they multiply at an alarming rate and will take over. I'd remove some.

    Why remove any? Their numbers will be determined by the food available. If the food is available, you want them eating it IMO.

    They took my 55 completley over so I'm just giving an opinion on my experience. Have you had any before? There mouths are so small they hardly make a difference as far as cleaning goes. I had just a couple hitchike on live rock then not long after I couldn't believe what I saw. Again, removing them is my opinion. To each his own. There numbers have nothing to do with how much food is available, they multiply out of control.

    I'll keep an eye on them and try and get a better picture soon. I've ordered a good few corals so should pick them up next Friday :)
