My Reef Tank Crashed :(

    I'm with bwalker on this one. It's calcium - let it snow, and settle - what cannot be dissolved into the water will fall out of solution. Doing even more could cause more harm. Changing out with tap water would probably cause more problems than letting this settle.

    Its been a rough week.... :angry:. Just tells you everything can be fine... then be a nightmare before you know it. Ill get through it.... everything is running.... after water change there was a slight clear up in the water. but sounds like ill be ok according to you and bwalker

    I did have a phosphate problem earlier this week... i was finally moving in the right direction when I had this happen to me tonight....:angry:

    Well my tank is clearin up a little bit now. better than initially which has me feelin a bit better. Who knows what damage has been done.

    no doubt..... im gonna order my second energy bar this week.... and get everything fully setup on the apex. I have it half assed right now since I only have one energy bar. Im sure i could have had the controller shut power off to the return pump when ph is outta wack.... then the water in the sump would have been only effected. I purchased a $500 controller for situations like this and I dont even have it fully setup for a time like this :angry:

    Ok just an update. Tank is practically cleared up. The XP has white skimmate ;) phosban media full of white debris will rinse out tommorow. So maybe my tank didn't crash just a fender bender :cheesy:
