I'm liking the sound of the XP more and more. Your tank should be just fine, params will level out over the next couple days. Maybe sooner.

    I have

    Set OFF
If Temp > 82.0 Then ON
If Temp < 77.0 Then ON
If pH > 08.30 Then ON
If pH < 07.80 Then ON
If Power Apex Off 001 Then ON

for my e-mail alarm. My pH never goes above 8.3, actually it never goes over 8.2 and never drops under 7.8. Usually stays stable at 7.9 - 8.0 - so if anything goes out of whack I'll get an e-mail.

I have an old Diatom XL diatomaceous earth filter that I've had for years in the garage that I keep on hand for incidents like this.

Nothing will filter out EVERYTHING and polish your water like a good ol fashioned DE filter will.

DUDE WTF!!! This is the first time I saw this. Holly crap.

So sounds like it will be OK. Don't know if the high PH will harm stuff. The carbonate will come out of solution. Water can only hold so much.

You need to take your pumps apart and make sure they are clean. Better get some vinegar. When I was ODing my tank, all my pumps calcified. You don't want to burn up a pump. My Red Dragon was the first to go because of it's circuitry. No harm. My others probably would have burned up.

I have my AC. Jr. turn the ALK pump off at 8.4. Never thought of it like this, but ya... have the return pump turn off at like 8.45???

Update..... Everything is perfectly fine today.... That was one hell of a scare. Woke up and glass walls of tank and sump coated with white debris. cleared it all up. Rinsed out my phosban reactor. Changed carbon. XP still skimming like a champ :). Everything is normal. Water is crystal clear.

Dis some water testing. Nothing to alarming. Alk just a little high... So maybe alk was being dosed also.... not to sure.
    Ca - 440
    Alk - 12dkh
    Mg - 1230
    SG - 1.0245

Everything else untracable. Didnt check my phosphates yet. Dont have test kit for it.

So My tank has fully rebounded from this scare. All fish alive. Sps in same shape. Lps starting to open up even more :)

I know I gotta get my Apex completely setup soon. In this situation an email may have not been sufficient. It all happened so quick.
