My current refugium is 10 gallons and lighted by a 17 watt fluorescent stock lighting (I know this isnt good enough.) I plan on upgrading the lighting so could you please recommend some that would be good for my current refugium. I have a 30 watt incandescent light but I heard they arent very good. I leave my lights on 24/7 because of the grape caulerpa that is contained. It contains about 9 lbs of live rock. It has a good amount of chaeto. I also recently added some grape caulerpa (I know this is very risky but I really need to get my nitrates down) As of now I only have a biowheel for my mechanical and chemical filtration so it is practically a nitrate factory. i also have a cool but basic output that I will post a photo of. It is a plastic bucket with some holes punched around it so it wont rise. I also has 7 filter bags with 3 that contain carbon. It does a little bit of biological, mechanical, and chemical filtration. The refugium also has about 3 inches of fine sand and 2 inches of rock rubble. please express your opinions and anything that you feel can make my refugium better.

Well..that is going to help... But, just run the lights at night when the other lights are down..reverse daylight...Get a CP fixture or a cheap clip on spot
lamp from Home Depot..pleanty of photo examples on this forum...How about a FTS of this whole thing? Looks like your doing good.
..btw..why is it a Nitrate Factory?

A clamp light with your standard CFL flood light works fine. You just want to go to lows and make sure you get one in the 2500K - 6000k range.
