    So long as it's safe for human consumption, it's safe for a tank. Cpvc, or even Pvc is fine, and the glue used for both these is safe also.

    Ok thank you. Does it matter what size for example 3/4 " or 1"

    You want your drain to be larger than your return. So 1" drain, and 3/4" return. Are you installing an overflow box? and just one return pipe right?

    mine pumps up a 3/4 inch pipe and drop down a 1 1/2 inch hose
    see picture.. Relitive to size of pump...and distance. ..return smaller than drain for sure.

    I currently already have an overflow into my refugium but I am now going to have an overflow into my sump from the refugium and then have my return from the sump to the DT. With that being said should I have 1" pipe from the refugium to the sump and 3/4 inch pipe on the return up to the tank?

    Right now pictures really wont help because it has nothing that I have planned. My pump and my overflow go with eachother evenly. It is just a standard overflow with a tube down and a standard return with a clear tube up. That is why I want to upgrade to PVC. I built all of this ignorantly when I was like 13.
