Here are some pics. Granger has them and their part number is 2A554. You can turn them upside down so the switch can be a shut-off or turn-on switch. Have you checked out http://www.kingvinnie.com. They have a really good DIY info and parts finding finding search page and a good forum too.

I forgot to add that the switch is rated at 30 watts so it would be fine for an auto top off for the sump but not as a shut off for the return pump...at least in my case...I need to pump up 4 feet and if I am using a 1" line down into the sump I think it should be about 300GPH so I would need a MAG5 or equivalent. The MAG5 runs at 45 watts.

The p/n for a 60 watt liquid float switch is 2A554. Price is $40.
    This one will handle a MAG5 or a RIO 2100 or 2500

you can get float switches off ebay... I paid for 5 at 20 dollars which are the same as the ones on that DIY page.
DX I really don't know why you are wanting to put this on your return pump as this is not needed. create an auto top off system that will keep your water level in the sump above the pump.

I am following your lead now Nautilus. Just had to get a few things straight in my head. I think I can use a RIO 2100 for the return and a smaller RIO for the auto top-off like you suggested. Haven't looked on Ebay yet but you knew I would. Just a matter of time.

Chris that is a nice setup you made there.

True.... you can also setup two of these at the same time. one for when it is to low and one for when to high if you worry about a flood. I never had that issue though.

Flooding issue is why I was talking about using another switch.

There is a price break. On purchase over $50 the shipping is free. Individually it's $3 for the shipping

Thanks Dave. I carved those teeth out in the plexiglass with a dremil tool and drill bit. same for the holes in the first plate of my refugium. I'm having fun with this tank and you have the answers to most every question I ask, or have a direction for me to go, and this has advanced my learnig curve immensly. Kudos (Bravo). thanks for the help.
