The turbo's making it backfire? To me it looks like you don't have the right air/fuel mapping programmed for the A/R of the turbo and the boost pressure you're running it at?

I dont know too much about that but I always tought it was something to do with fuel, like bad fuel or timing will make it backfire. And I thought it was only in turbo cars but maybe im wrong. So ill take your word bogie and delete the turbo thing.

Heres a link to wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Back-fire

i guess it can happen in cars without turbos so I stand corrected.

Well, if it's all stock, than it can only be a small handfull of issues.
If it's an aftermarket turbo setup with a manual or electronic boost regulator, all bets are off. Good luck with the car though. Looks like some fun driving.

;) That's rotary power for ya! very frustrating when it comes to miss firing, got 2 coil packs and 2 distributors, and when it floods you can't push or pull fast enough to get it started! But the truth is I like'em :p

no she was running good, its just the nature of the whole setup, huge 1350cc secondary injectors, fuel rail and pump, huge turbo basically its a rotary, got alot of air so it needs alot of fuel, if it dosent get it it will die :-/

hehe no it has microtech (stand alone engine management system) the injectors run off the map not throttle position so when i abruptly let of (shifting) it the computer has to notice the a/f ratio go rich then it sends a signal to close the injectors and in that short period of time the excess fuel that is not burned cause no air intake, so it is sent through the exhaust in a ball of fire, plus i tune it a little rich its my daily driver so i dont wanna blow the engine and be stuck wit no ride

    IBMgeek thanks for the compliments

heres a pic of the enging, and no pretty much nothing is stock

i had a 93 heritage that i built with the valves from a chevy 350 ( 1.60 in, 1.94 out ), .700 lift cam, 10.5:1 pistons, jims back cut 5 spd trans, 110 hp, 100 t, 30 lb racing clutch, and more that i sold to my best friend for 15k. last weekend i was behind him when he rear ended a truck breaking his leg in 5 places with surgery to be set this week. the bike is totaled but his leg will heal. the part that sucks is my creation is gone. time to turn my 90 flhtc into a monster.

    moral of the story:

lets all be carefull out there no matter what we drive. life is to short.
