Has anyone driven a Mazda Speed3 Turbo? I read in an automotive magazine at the repair shop (ugh, didn't want to be there) that they're one of the best "cheap" fast rides on the market. Well my girlfriend has one (2008) and I got to drive it yesterday. Let me just say, I agree with the article :D That thing is peppy as poo. It was funnnnn  And yes, it's a 6 speed. Because automatic sports cars make me cry on the inside.

my 2002 Honda S2000 (powder blue) was awesome.... being able to rev a motor to 9500k RPM, and feeling like i was driving a 4wheel version of my motorcycle was great.

too bad i had to sell it due to the recent downturn in the economy

In the past 2 years, I went from a manual VW Beetle to a used automatic Mercury Mountaineer. I didn't realize how much I missed driving an automatic until I switched back

im also a firm believer that EVERYONE should have some basic understanding of how a clutch works. there is always the potential for someone to get injured or something and you have to drive their vehicle to make it back..... (been there done that... and injury was too much beer lol)

yeah my daily driver is a automatic camry. i would prefer it was manual though. i like to drive 'spirited' and i feel i cant get that out of an automatic that i have 0 control over the transmission and thus cannot utilize engine breaking or downshift prior to the apex of my turns so i can come blasting out of them.....

edit: then again if my camry was manual it wouldnt serve its purpose. its my daily driver for a reason. if it had the ability for me to drive it like i stole it, id wind up having to rip and replace the full suspension because I ABSOLUTELY HATE BODY ROLL.

The one thing I do miss is the control over the transmission, as you mentioned. I do not, however, miss getting "clutch leg" when stuck in traffic. Or hoping that the person behind me isn't too far up my butt when I have to stop/start while on a steep incline.

Who's TP? I'm either being stupid or that was a typo on your end

And yep, I popped the question yesterday and it became "official" and she met my parents and blah blah blah. Not "The Question", just the question. Ok? Ok. :D

Yesterday also happens to be when she let me drive her car. Muahahahahahaha
