    My new halide pendant and ballast had paint boils and a lot of rust when I acquired it through a trade. I spent my day scraping and sanding a majority of the rust and paint boils from each item.

    I then sprayed a black semi-gloss Rustoleum enamel product that is designed for outdoor use and high temperatures (up to 1200 degrees).

    It's not perfect, but I did as good a job as I cared to do in an afternoon. Looks much better than it did.
