for the past 6-7 months i have been setting up small dwarf seahorse aquariums and selling them off for some good profit, i have a business license that is how i can get the supplies for so cheap, here is a pic of my 10 gallon tank that i kind of use as a seahorse stock tank. i buy seahorses to put in there then they breed and i put the babies in the smaller tanks and i can sell them off as captive bred dwarf seahorses. the rock in the 10 gallon is about 7 pounds of marco rock.

the one pic is of my system with the smaller tanks in a rack, the top two are 2.5 gallons the bottom one is 3.5 gallons.
they dont have sand in them yet they are just cycling right now. i will put sand later.

the ten gallon is empty as of now because i sold my last couple pairs of seahorses off in one of my other tanks. i have just ordered 5 pairs and they will be in shortly. here are the pics.

right now my main concern is finding a good light fixture for the 10 gallon, i plan on having quite a few corals in there for the horses to latch onto. any ideas?

let me know what you all think!

I heard that sea fans are nice for horses. But no stinging corals(duh)

Is it all connected in one system?

It is not all connected, I sell these off to people so it is imperative that they not be attached so I can simply take them off the rack wen sold and not hav to redo the plumbing.

Cool! How big are these sea horses? Are they easy and cheap to keep?

they max out at about an inch tall, the babies are no more than a few millimeters tall though. they are not very easy to keep as they require newly hatched decapsulated brine shrimp so you have to hatch them wisely, if you do too many you end up with a bunch of brine shrimp too big for them and therefore wasted.

yes, depending on the tank i make between 90 and 180 dollars profit off of each one. i have already sold 3 of these small 2.5 gallon tanks i sold one 5 gallon tank and 3 8 gallon tanks. but the larger the tank you have the more brine shrimp you waste, and the more horses you have to have or else the tank looks quite empty. i usually do 1-2 pairs per 2.5 gallon tank.

havent updated in a bit, all the tanks are cycled and i have just ordered 5 pairs of dwarf seahorses, i also ordered the following to split between my 5 gallon, 10 gallon, and 2.5 gallon reefs:

    -rusty goby
    -neon goby
    -green frilly gorgonian
    -yellow gorgonian
    -15 polyps of purple zoos
    -15 polyps blue zoos
    -yellow headed jawfish

i plan on putting the jawfish in the ten gallon until i can put him into a 29 gallon. putting the neon goby in the 2.5 gallon and im putting the rusty goby in the 10 gallon too.

al the corals are going into the 5 gallon its the only pico right now with reef capable lighting.

i also moved the ten gallon tank to the bottom of the seahorse tank rack so it is located right underneath the bottom seahorse tank.
