While at MMC today, I had to go thru the natural science part of the Cranbrook Insistue of Science (where the event was held), in search of wherever the few hobbyists were supposed to speak. I thought I would share my pictures. I found this more interesting than the actual event. Sorry about the bad lighting in some of the shots. The hall was kind of dark.

    Cool dead things. lol...

A photo of what the Philippines looked like after the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo. To the right, is a sample of the volcanic ash.

Fossils. On the bottom shelf, is the jaw of a mastodon, which was supposedly found on campus.

    All about Earth's core.

A giant model of the earth. This thing is about 6' in diameter and spun around. I thought it was pretty neat. :p

I believe this was some kind of iron/copper mixture that had been dug up(duh)?

This was to show how rock structures are made of atoms, in patterns. It was fun to play with.

Now on to thee crystals, and such.

Oh, and after all this, I never found where the speakers were supposed to be.

I'm not sure why those few are sideways. I flipped them in Photobucket, but it doesn't seem to have affected it here.

Sorry to hear that you find the speakers, but it looks like you quite a journey trying to find them lol.

Awesome stuff! Right now I am a geology/archeology student and the complexity of it all is astonishing.

I saw the sign. It said "speakers this way" pointing down the hall. I didn't see one pointing to a specific area or room.
