thats a bargain, most are around 40 each. a pair is probably around 100 bucks. depending on the pair.

yeah but cardinalfish are boring, just kinda sit there!IMO! plus they seem to like low flow, which knowing your coral addiction, won't work!;) I just like the personalities of clowns! They have them! plus so much easier and hardier!

The reason I said on a budget is because I wanted to add a cheap fish(chromis) for a while after the cycle before adding the clown pair.

Haha! I like the chromis because it will bring alot of action to the tank!

So the original plan looks good?

IMO cardinals are very lively, i may just get lucky with mine however. true clowns do have great personalities but also think of all the aggression problems he will run into in the future.

i just dont like going the same route everyone goes with their tank, which seems to be chromises clowns and gobies, you could do something out of the ordinary like get a couple awesome looking dottybacks, but they are pretty aggressive. or you could get some smaller wrasses like a sixline, and a mystery wrasse or something.

Yeah I know it's ordinary but honestly, I like them! I don't think aggression will be much of an issue since the clown pair will be added after the chromis. And if I add a goby later on, it's a bottom dweller so they won't bother it.
