Just moved into an apartment decided to pick up a biocube and transfer everything from my standard 29gallon. My corals are still all closed up, its been 3 days, just my ricordeas have opened, i think they may be mad going from t5's to PC's.

I plan on retrofitting a rapidled kit eventually, when my finances allow me :cheesy: I've removed bio-balls, all the false floors, sponge and the tab on the first chamber.

    Any suggestions for anything else?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Congrats on the Biocube, I think they are great little tanks.

Have you tested your parameters to see if there is a reason other than lighting that is keeping corals closed.

I have found that PC lighting to be pretty decent for most soft corals and some hardier LPS( granted I would rather have LED's). Unless the previous T5 bulbs were old I would think the PC should not be that much of a shock.

    :)

yeah, do yourself a huge favor and read these threads, chris aka biocube has pimped his out as well as I've seen about anyone do it, all he needs now is time for growth, but he's done it top notch but smart and economical9to a degree) lol. But as far as i can tell, not many have done it better!

I've been lurking around his threads for awhile and drooling over his tank and builds, his build made me want to buy the biocube in the first place!

Hmm, ill check out my params in a.m. I figured they would be good since it was 80% water from my other tank and all the same rock, in fact i had PC's on my standard 29G after i sold my t5's to buy the tank

dude PM him after reading his threads, super nice guy, super geek;) said with much mutual reef love, and has made all the mistakes/learned the best ways to do it. Save yourself a TON of cash and hours of BS and do what he did. If ya can't afford it, save the money for it! He'll tell ya the same, you'll just end up with a box of crap thats not worth selling if ya experiment. While he has a ton of cash dropped in that tank, he did it in manageable steps.

His builds should be sticky's for the cube, IMO

Water doesn't carry many saving graces for a tank, its all about the LR and sandbed, or lack there of.

    Thanks Cosmo!! :)

Hey CheeseGuy! Honestly if you have any questions let me know, I have done many mods to my BC.. Ones I don't even use anymore or even talked about. I would love to share them with you and help you along with your success.

If I could get just one sticky I would be in heaven!!!!!

Maybe I might be wrong here but I am going to take a shot in the dark here.. You said you moved into a new apartment... My assumption is there might be less airflow verses your previous place. Make sure your PH & Alk are in normal range, test every day at the same time to get accurate results.

The reason I am asking this is because I live in a apartment and my tank and Apex controller tell me when I have had my windows closed for too long. My PH and Alk drop like a fly and my coral PE is not as strong.
