Yellow Tangs tend to be more aggressive then some of the other Tangs. If someone wants a Yellow Tang, I always suggest putting them in as the last fish.8)

Changing thier surroundings sometimes works, but you will never know until you do it. I think your going to still have the problem. How big is your tank?

Bring the yellow tang to your fish store and see if they'll give you a store credit. As has already been mentioned, yellow tangs are more aggressive than most other tangs. If you're attached to the fish, however, wait a few weeks for the other fish to get settled in before you put it back into the main display.

In the future try this trick that has worked for me.When you buy the fish, float the bag in the tank like normal. Acclimate the fish as you would do it, but let the fish out at night when all the lights are out. I did that when I introduced a Kole tang when I already had a yellow tang in the tank. To this day I have never seen them fight. Luna

im more surprised that he went forte butterfly.they usually go after the same type(tangs).if the rock work and the nite dropping doesnt work. try feeding them more to keep them distracted.worked when i had 2 angels.if none of that works just pick your favorite and drop the other at the lfs.
