my tang is trippen

    today i moved rocks arround and added new fish and ever sence my hippo tang has beeen swimming extra fast and breathing extra fast it looks like he might have picked up ich is that one of the symtoms. also i got two clown fish ontop of one that i already have he is swimming with his mouth open in one spot in the tank any idea whats going on

    Yo hippo tang is streesed from the new addtions and scaping. Eventually it should settle down just make sure it keeps eating.

    You should try and refrain from moving stuff around due to the stress that you cause on the fish.

    i only moved stuff arround beacuse my yellow tang was attacking evrything i put in there but he is fine now

    Hippo's are a very high-strung fish.

    Just about any quick change in environment stresses them out.

    Most usual reaction with this species, is developing ICK. :-/

    Keep changes to a minimum, or do very slowly over time.

    No, not if the tank is large enough.

    We do too and it's working ok so far in our 55 gal, but will be moving to a larger tank when they get bigger.

    We have a Hippo in the same tank with a Chevron Tang and they are perfectly fine together...
