Nope, Engineer Goby. Had it since it was about an inch long! And he loves to move around stuff!

Im sorry to tell you, but that is a convict blenny. it starts with a horizontal stripe that later changes to the pattern that it has in your pic.

I think the difference is the length that they grow to. Other than that they look the same. They do have the same species name

Great for Beginners
Also called the Convict Goby, this fish is an absolute delight. It adapts well to captive conditions, and is VERY social. This is one fish that you may purchase three, five or as many as you would like. Most aquarists have only seen this fish when it’s small, when it greatly resembles the common eel catfish. Almost always in good health, and amongst the last to perish from disease, poor environment or catastrophe, Engineer's are never “late to the dinner table”… and can grow to more than eight inches in length…

Common Name: Convict Blenny
Species Name: Pholidichthys leucotaenia Bleeker, 1856
Range: Western Pacific.

Size: Up to 4 inches (10 cm)

Natural Environment: In the daytime they appear in large schools of juveniles along protected drop-off areas. Adults live in substrate borrows.

General Husbandry: Temperature range of 76 - 82F (25 - 28C) and natural diet consists mainly of zooplankton. A hardy fish, and requires a meaty diet and cave areas. Feed two or three times a day.

Aquarium Suitability: *

I am definetly at the point where "change" frightens me. I avoid LFS to make sure nothing follows me home.

Actually am quite satisfied with fish/coral combination I have now.

As all appears very stable, it would take some kind of major event for me to add something to tank, or change anything that I am doing.\

My tank is happy, I am happy! ;D

Awesome Omard, changes are good and bad and I've learned from them ! Thanks Amcarrig....Everyday I notice something new. Today, under a rock, I saw a almost clear string looking, sand sifting thing. I used to have one years ago, when I first set the tank up. A year later, I was in the hospital for a month and a half and when I got home, my tank was pretty much shot. All the fish were alive, from what I know now, barely. It's been uphill since then, and then the move to GA took it's toll. It's got one more move left, in about 2 years. Under the tank for a refugium. I am going to do a separate fuge/sump. It is going to be in a wall that will end up being 48"Lx34"Tx29"D. I figured out one time what that would be in gallons. I forget, but I know it's huge! Of course I will go all out, with mh and chiller and all the other good stuff. Thinking about having it piped to another room, too. That's the good thing about remodeling your house. You can always change it. ;D

Does anyone here at 3reef sell any frags? Other than from a company? I would love to try my hand at a few for low lighting, that are pretty reasonable. I found one guy out of Sharpsburg, GA about 3 hours from me, but 10 miles from my Brother/Sister and Parents. He's on ebay and I've asked to go see his tanks and he said yeah but when I was just out there he said he wasn't going to be home that day. Maybe he was or wasn't but now I'm not sure if I want to put his stuff in my tank, since I just know of him. Know what I mean? OK babbling again

Thanks for all the kind words!!!

Great looking tank. The change in water clarity is amazing, strong work.

Nice tank, and nice observation.

Consider posting it to "Blog" in your public profile to give yourself record of tank progress. ;D

It is a handy tool which you can post from when desired.
