So I have a ten gallon salt water tank. Originally in it was a blue damsel fish, a clown fish, four polyp corals, and about 8 hermit crabs and two snails. Before I left for school, Sunday night I put in a new small powerhead. That night I checked and everything seemed normal and running smoothly. I am at school so I can not monitor my tank at this time. So on Monday night I get a call that my clown fish had died. Then tonight I get another call saying my blue damsel fish has died and now three out of my four corals are closed and not doing well. Please if you have any advice or suggestions of what may be causing this please let me know! thank you!

How long has the tank been up? Do you know what you water parameters are?

You shouldn't need that much flow in that size a tank. How long has the tank been running? Sometimes when substrate is thrown around, the parameters will spike. When you get a chance, please list your params.

Nearly impossible to now what's causing it without parameters and a better description of your setup. Many things come to mind as possibilities, but there's no point in listing them w/o more information.

So it says you were in the process of building your 10 gallon tank in mid November.

I'm guessing everything was set up by Dec 1st. So let's say you gave it 2-3 weeks to cycle. That would put us to X-mas. Then you added 2 fish, hermits, snails and coral all at the same time into a 10 gallon?

What is your filtration and how much live rock do you have? Maybe an jump in CO2?

What was the last readings you have of your params?
