I attempted to feed my clownfish on Sunday and he did not eat. I had to leave town for work on Tuesday and got back last night. Clownfish not looking so good and neither are the snails.

This morning when I did my regular water change I notice that many dead bristleworms were laying about the substrate. Snails are motionless and fish is not doing very well at all.

Checked parameters, no ammonia, nitrites, or even nitrates for that matter. Only parameter out of whack was temp which had dropped from normal of 76 to 72.

Been doing small water changes, about four so far today and slowly raising the temp.

Not sure what else to do or what could be wrong?

Could some kind of chemical have gotten into the tank? That is very strange if there are dead bristleworms. Maybe some stray voltage? I'm just thinking out loud here, hopefully someone has some better ideas

The temp is more than likely your problem. Since it is dropped, have you checked your PH?

Good idea, could be the reason why his temp dipped. Heaters really either work, or don't.

Yeah, pH was good as well as all other params.

A possibility. Two year olds have been spotted in the area ...

My wife was watching the tank while I was out and she didn't indicate anything like that happening.

    This is my hope ...

Temp is getting back up slowly and I just noticed the Nassarius moving around. All the Nerites and Ceriths though are still not functional. Fish is not moving much either.

See how things are in the morning...

Have you changed your heater or figure out how your tank got so low?

Well, I did some "remodeling" in the sump area and I believe that my flow was not high enough through the sump, where the heater is located, to maintain the DT temp.

Since I had to leave I was unable to maintain a close eye on the situation, and well ...

Anyway, I have put one heater in the DT and also increased the flow through the sump and by morning the temp should be back to 76.

We'll see how things are going then ...
