I know all about poor,i have a 15 gallon cycling(that i'm not sure what to put in it yet)but that's a good thing,I can't afford anything right now,so it's helping me keep my patience with the cycling(i tend to try to hurry things up and go to fast!!LOL)

should the rocks go in first before the sand because of how much they burrow and move things? and I kind of wish my 25 gallon fresh water tank would croak so I could turn that into a mantis tank....

lol no it doesnt really matter with the rock its just easier to aquascape with it in last but i dont think i'll need to worry about aquascaping with a mantis. lol

Yes,the rocks should go in first anyway due to shifting in the sandbed and causing a tumble.
