My toadstool is looking quite sad

A few days ago my toadstool decided not to open. It has been closed for 2 days already and im worried. There are only like 3 or 4 little strands coming out of him so he is pretty much not opened at all. What is happening? Im very worried!

 

shedding his skin prolly,,does he have a shiny waxy layer on it, and it prolly shrinked a little

 

It has shrunken A LOT, but it is really not shiny at all.

 

Did you know they shed? They will close up and get all shiny and then their "skin" will shed off. They need to be in some flow for that to happen.

It could be something different though. If you had a picture, it would help.

 

Ok... i do know they shed and he is in flow, but i am very worried because he does not look shiny. I am about to post a pic... one sec please

give it a week or so..its def shedding, the waxy layer may not be real visible now but it will soon come,,

it actually kinda interesting to watch them shed..

dont worry, it looks like its just starting it..tomorrow there will be no polyp extension, and will get pretty small and then the waxy layer will start to be noticed, and they usually get a little darker color on them and then after the layer sheds it will come back bigger and nicer than before..

this is a good sign of a healthy toadstool..
