I got this about a year ago. Been one of my favorite toys I ahave ever owned. Traded a 4 wheeler for it that I never used. Since then, I have made it street legal and done a lot of safety and cosmetic upgrades. There wasn't much more that could be done performance wise. I have seen speeds up to 93mph and got scared and slowed down (front end has no weight and it was quite scary and awesome) VW bug engine and a VW bus transmission. Let me know what you think!!

When I bought it, June of last year.

    Nice...got any dunes nearby?

How about a small stack of cinder-blocks up front by the front tires? ;)

You can, but you wouldn't want to. The front tires don't get any power so you would just be adding weight and making it harder to drive (no power steering)

The rear tires provide all the traction and power. But you could build it to whatever suits your taste. I did mine with the large back tires and small front tires because I wanted the ability to trail ride and sand run but it's primarily for street driving so I wanted tires that were suited to that use.

Oh, and I wanted to look like it just stepped out of grand theft auto. And the huge rear tires do that!

I put disc brakes on it! No need for cinders!

There are a few dunes, but nothing much. That's the primary reason I added all the mods to make it street legal. I mostly run it up and down the hwy on the beach.

Yes it is a keg! Lol. Diy to the max!

It's technically a 61 VW. With title and the inspection was easy because I wrote it myself. In MS, it's not overly difficult if you have a title. Going to the state patrol and having it registered as a kit car would have been a little tougher. I would have had to get a real speedometer instead of using a gps lol. But past that I cover every law required.
