well believe it or not the water is not really too bad, but there is one thing that no one noticed that is a big factor in that. I only have 2 fish for 90gal of water. The main problems really are with how much of a pain maintenance is, so I don't to it as much as I should and I've had water on the floor several times.
this is my current build that I'm going to be moving a lot of stuff into while I redo the 55.

and I just started this up last night, but it's getting stuff from my bigger set up, so I'm not worried about a cycle because everything is from a cycled tank and I have lots of filtration on it.

These are the tanks that I'd put the orpheks on if I win some, not the old ones.

remember to keep the setup simple. That goes a long way. FYI it might of been a little easier to get a Biocube or Jbj 29hqi setup. Maintenance is a breeze with them.

Ask questions. That was the point of this thread. As I said I'm not fixing this set-up at all and am looking forward to ripping it down. Also the point of doing this was to try to make my own set-up and not get a all-in-one set-up. I think I'll be very happy with my next tank, and I learned a lot from doing this for very little $ because most of it was free, so I'm ok with it really. The point was to offer up a set up with a lot of things to look over so people could see what a "bad system" is like, not to actually fix this system. I thought about that and did some steps to make a big sump/fuge and have a large posiden pump, but I decided that a big tank is just too much for me right now as well as needing to empty the 55 to do things right.

I think it's pretty easy to notice the absence of fish altogether really. I don't think I've seen many pics up of 90gal of display tank with out seeing one fish in them.

Well damon I guess the whole meaning of the thread went over my head then.

And for not noticing lack of fish, you could have a great white in there I would not have seen it.

    Good luck on the Nano.

Here is a FTS of the tank that I shut down before I stared building this disaster. It was a good tank, but I got tiered of it.

ya it is a lot nicer than my current set up. I just really did not know how well that system was because I had not had anything else. I had a friend set me up with stuff in the beginning and I did not really know what I was doing when I tried to make my own system. I'm looking forward to redoing everything and I think I'm going to be able to make a ok system this time.

Sorry but I don't really understand why you are tearing this system down. Personally I would just throw in a few pounds of dry rock, run the canisters empty if nothing else, and call the tank good to go.

So what problem exactly are you having with this tank?
