I found a great way to clear cloudy water its to use a DE filter. Your best way IMO to do this is get a Marineland Magnum filter 250 or 350 based on the size of your set up.

Then use it with DE (diatomaceous earth, diatom filter). It takes no modifications and after you change out the media about 3 times (for me it was a week). Your tank will be clearer than you've ever seen.

Look into Brightwells Microbacter7 product. I just re-read the extremely informative label again. It explains that cloudy water is usually full of nutrients. And their product I mentioned above actually removes those nutrients using micro organizms.

My water is crystal clear using the two techniques above for the last 10 days. I had a green water problem that I could not see 1.5 inches into the water it was so bad. Magnum 250 HOB was 40 bucks online, and I get DE for free cause I buy it in bulk for my pool business. And yes the pool DE is good enough as its food grade. I wouldnt eat any though lol. Your local pool store will sell you a 10 lb bag for less than 15. unless their crooks!

You might be able to get away with just the Microbacter7 product for a quick response. Id love to see the result.
