Is quite litterly perfect, Everything is at zero. DKH is 9 (doing a water change wendsday to raise it) PH is 8.2, calcium is 500+ , less than .025 phosphate if that. What am I forgetting?

Well I have a lot of those silver bubble algeas in my tank...No idea where they came from, nothing changed in the tank they just appeared.

I have macro in the fuge, Im guessing that All the algea in the tank is using it (nutirents) up as fast at it can be made?

Also I added four snails, two clowns, and cleaner shrimp (yesterday)which has mistirously dissapeared... like no trace I saw him this morning then he dissapeared? Whats going on here?

The algae probably came in on the rock, or possibly a coral. Bubble algae can be difficult to get rid of. The fact that you have measurable phosphates and fuge leads me to think that you have excess nutrients. How much and how often do you feed? You may want to run some ferric oxide to help with phosphate.

Well, The thing that dosent make sense to me is the tank has been up and running with nothing new for four months. I left for three days, came back and the stuff was everywhere. Actually I added T-5 lights before I left. I also Had a diatom bloom.

Maybe the strenght Of the lights triggered it?

-Im going to start with RO/DI water wendsday my typoon III exteme arrives and Im hoping that with the fuge will will starve it all off..

What is your NO3 level? Mg level? Those are some params that should be regularly tested as well....

    Happy reefing!

I agree the new light will have an effect on algae growth. Give it some time it will come around

And as the Dr. Said what are your Nitrate and Mag levels.

Well things seem to be working pretty good, I have managed to starve off the bubble algea. With just macro in the fuge. It will all be iradicated once I get my RO/DI.

And the shrimp came out while I was doin some hardcore glass cleaning from all the diatoms. Eating them maybe?

an emerald crab or two might help get rid of that bubble algae or (valonia)...they have been known to feed on this pest algae.
