Alright, so I was finally able to go to Lowe's and pick up the supplies for my DIY fuge build. It will be going in the stand for my BC 29, which is a cube shaped stand and makes it hard to find a prebuilt fuge or a decent sized tank to convert. Needless to say I designed my own cube shaped fuge, sort of an unconventional design but I'm hoping it works. The tank is built out of .22" acylic with .08" baffles. I used Weld-On #4, which I found for $7 on eBay, better than amazon's $22, to glue everything together and then used an aquarium safe sealant just be sure of the seal. After getting the main cube built I did a water test after it cured for about 36hrs. Here's a photo of the water test:

The cube measures 18"x18"x12" and will hold roughly 12 gallons which is good for me. The baffles were a pain because they guy at Lowe's apparently couldn't cut straight and trying to trim off an 1/8" to a 1/16" curved edge from plexi is almost impossible. Needless to say I've been trying to get a good seal around all of the baffles all day today; putting more sealant around, waiting for it to dry and then doing another water test.

Here's what it looks like with all of the baffles in:

The overflow is a CPR overflow box rated at 300gph and the return pump is a Rio 1400 and at the estimated head height, will be providing roughly 250gph. As far as the fuge goes, it's kind of divided into two different sections so in one I will put some miracle mud with my chaeto and in the other a pile of rubble rock. The lighting will be a simple 18" flourescent under the cabinet fixture. I still have to mix up some more water for the added volume so I'm hoping to have this thing installed and running by the beginning of the coming week. Will definitely take some rearranging of the stand. I'll be sure to post some pics after I get it installed and running. Be sure to tell me what you guys think!

I actually had it cut at Lowe's but all you have to do is score it real good and it snaps pretty easily, at least the .08" stuff does.

Thanks for all the good comments everyone!

I know, me too. I'm hoping that will be tomorrow. I picked up the rest of the plumbing parts today.
