Like 5 times a day my wife spots a snail knocked over and she is right in the tank fixing him. At first id make jokes but then I started to wonder how many snails die behind liver rock structures. This downed on me when I removed a few dead snails shells and a bunch of black root fell out and when I removed it from the water it smelt horrible. The question in my mind was this a healthy source of nitrates? And to others keep an eye on your snails.

Definitely a source of nitrates. If one dies in my tank, it doesn't stand a chance with the clean-up crew.

i help it if its on the front of the tank, but i don't really worry, the only ones that are left are the ones that don't lose there grip, but that one reason i like urchins they can flip themselves

Urchins do NOT eat corals. They are completely reef safe. They do eat CORALINE. Theres a big difference. Coraline is the pink/purple you see on the rocks and glass. I had an urchin for about a month or so, and I can attest to them being completely reef safe. They do some serious damage to algae as well. But like said, they do eat coraline.
If your worried about the snail situation, you could always up the hermits. They will take care of anything thats dead promptly. Or get turbo's. I have had mine for 6 months and never seen one stuck on its back.

im sure some types could eat corals. but im betting if they have any other supply of food most won't, i don't think corals are to easy on the digestive system.
