    She spent wayyy too much!!

This morning I put in the sump four pouches of ALGONE as I expect the nitrate to go to the roof…

I spent so much for this aquarium and everything is going to be screw up. I told her already to take care of her garden which she loves to do and I take care of my aquarium. Isn’t it how things should be? :)

Your tank will be fine---Don't be too hard on her, she did it cause she loves you. Always put her before your tank. Teach her, and hopefully she will become as interested and knowledgeable as you are, My wife and I love doing this hobby together!!!

well if its true... your lucky

guys have problems with their wife/girlfriend giving them a hard time on their tanks.
Money spent and time consumed that is put into a reef tank.

Looking forward to pics... especially the clams. BTW where you from?

I dont know if this will make you feel better or not but i have a 100g with a 30g sump, not much live rock, about 60 lbs, with another 50 still curing. I put a mushroom combo rock in my tank (3 diff kinds of mushroom, yellow polyps and a xenia), the tank is only about 6 weeks old and they are doing fine, but it sounds like you have ALOT more sensitive stuff, i would seriously find someone with a established tank to hold them for you if possible as mentioned

i think it is too early to push the panic button or throw in the flag.. if it was me in this situation, i would try to monitor the water parameters closely and make sure the corals are where they need to be in the tank.. ie, based on the amount of flow and lighting each corals require, place them accordingly.. everybody has their own little secrets or ways to keep a successful reef, and there are many ways to run a successful reef.. i am not going to lie, i had a frogspawn, GSP, clam, mushrooms, leather, and many other easier and harder to keep corals within the first 2 months and it was perfectly fine and they are stil thriving as we speak as i have past my one year mark.. secrets? my water is always in pristine condition.. i have a refugium that takes up a lot of nitrate for me and i have over 125 pounds of liverock in my 75G along with a 3" deep sandbed..
make SURE they are where they need to be in the tank.. ie, corals that require more light, place them towards the top (your clams), corals that require stronger current, place them in spots where there is flow.. do that and keep up with your water parameters and you MIGHT be just fine

Take it like a man LOL. All jokes aside I would talk to her about WHO is going to be incharge of the tank. If she wants to put a coral in the tank let her (at the right time) Personelly I dont think more than 1 person should be sticking their hands in (so to speak). It is great that she is intrested and wants to do this with you :). Only ONE person should feed, dose, test, add too the tank in my opinion. I keep records of everything that goes in my tank. that way you minimize the chances of over dosing the tank. Get her involved and teach her how to test, feed, dose etc. so if your not able to she can. Be Happy that she is intrested. BTW good luck with the corals, I hope they make it!!
